Cookie policy
This website sets one cookie, and only after you have made a choice. There is no analytics, no advertising pixel and no third-party script anywhere on it. Below is the complete list, not a template.
Printed from klikka.travel/cookies.html
1. Our position
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. Some are needed for a site to work. Most, in practice, are there to watch you. We have none of the second kind.
- On first visit, nothing non-essential is stored and no third-party request is made. The consent banner is part of this page, not loaded from anywhere.
- Rejecting is exactly as easy as accepting — one click, same size button, same prominence. A banner that makes refusal harder is itself unlawful, so we did not build one.
- If you reject, we store the fact that you rejected. That is the only thing we keep.
- Your choice is recorded with a version number and a timestamp, so if our cookie use ever changes we ask you again instead of relying on an old answer.
2. Every cookie this website sets
| Name | Category | Purpose | Duration | Party |
|---|---|---|---|---|
klikka_consent |
Strictly necessary | Records your cookie choice so we do not ask again on every page. Contains only: the consent version, the date and time of your choice, and whether you allowed analytics and marketing. No identifier, nothing about you personally. | 6 months, then we ask again | First party, klikka.travel, SameSite=Lax, Secure |
That is the entire list. It is set when you press Accept all, Reject all or Save preferences, and not before.
3. What we do not set
To be specific, because vague cookie policies are how sites hide things. This website has: no Google Analytics or any other analytics, no Google Tag Manager, no Meta or LinkedIn pixel, no advertising or retargeting cookie, no embedded video or map iframe, no social share widget, no chat widget, no font loaded from a third-party server, no A/B testing tool, no session recording, and no cross-site tracking of any kind. Fonts, styles, images and the consent script are all served from this domain, so opening this page contacts nobody but us.
4. Cookies in the Klikka app
The app at klikka.travel is a separate, signed-in product. It uses strictly necessary cookies and equivalent browser storage to keep you signed in, to keep your session secure and to remember which trip you were looking at. These are essential to a service you have asked for, so no consent is required for them, and they are not used to track you or to advertise. Sign-in with Google, if you choose it, sets cookies on Google's own domain under Google's policies. No analytics or marketing cookie runs in the app either. If that changes, this section changes with it and the consent version above is raised.
5. Changing or withdrawing your consent
Use the Cookie preferences link in the footer of every page, including this one. It opens the same panel as the banner, with a separate switch for each category, and it works with a keyboard alone: Tab to move, Space to toggle, Enter to activate a button, Escape to close. Withdrawing consent takes effect immediately and removes anything that was set under it. Deleting the klikka_consent cookie in your browser has the same effect as never having answered: you will be asked again.
6. Blocking cookies yourself
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, in Settings under Privacy. Blocking all cookies will not break the reading of this site, though the banner will reappear on each visit because we cannot remember your answer. Blocking cookies in the app will prevent you from staying signed in.
7. If we ever add analytics
We have built for that honestly rather than leaving a hole. Any future analytics or marketing script is held inert in the page and is only requested after you switch that category on; the mechanism is written into our consent script and documented in it. Before any such script ships, its cookies will be added to the table in section 2 with name, purpose, duration and category, and the consent version will be raised so that everyone is asked again. We will not add anything to this site that transmits your data to a third party without asking you first.
8. The law we are applying
Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive as implemented in Malta by the Processing of Personal Data (Electronic Communications Sector) Regulations, together with the GDPR's standard for valid consent: freely given, specific, informed, unambiguous, as easy to withdraw as to give, and never inferred from silence or from scrolling. Where a cookie choice involves personal data, our lawful basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a), except for the strictly necessary cookie above, which is necessary for a service you requested.

Version 1.0, 4 August 2026. Consent version 1. If the consent version here is higher than the one stored in your browser, you will be asked again automatically.
